Waiting for Baby

Now it's past the due date, my daughter is getting a little impatient. And this is one of those things that mom can't help her with.  Eating Thai food, walking the mall,etc,etc. hasn't helped yet either.  And today it snowed, knowing her she will go into labor today.  Gramma should be able to make the 20 mile drive before baby is born.  Seriously though, I know she's ready.  Already did the nesting thing on Monday, which was the due date.  Baby's room is all put together very cute.  My grandson is very lucky to have such good parents.

Baby Shower 101

This Sunday is the baby shower at Gramma's house.  (that would be mine)  After shopping all day for food and all the stuff, I'm already exhausted.  Haven't even started cooking yet.  And since none of us like store bought cakes, I even get to do that too.  I'm making two ice cream cakes, chicken wings, meatballs, pasta salad, dip & chips and blue punch.  I hope I can get it all done before the shower starts.  Oh and tomorrow back to the store, didn't get enough ice cream, and some small gifts for the game winners.  Woe is me.  It will be fun, the first baby showers always are.  I still remember mine back in 1982.  My friends surprised me, had it all set up in my house when I got home from shopping or something.  Can't remember that part.  It was great.  Until next week, I will need a few days to re coop.  Oh and I put up the tree today too.

Gramma does laundry

Today I am washing a boat load of infant clothes, blankets, bibs, etc.etc.  Hopefully I will be done by Sunday.  The little dude has more clothes than my kids had combined.  And the clothes for babies now are  10 times cuter than they were 28 years ago.  But we all know that once the baby is born all they wear are jammies.  I wish we would have had onesies, I was forever trying to keep t-shirts tucked into the diaper butt.  I should have invented them.

Shopping with My Daughter

Today was her laundry day, she does it at my house.  While it was washing and drying we went shopping for a friends baby shower.  We were in the baby department at Target for an hour.  And since the friend is having a girl, well the pink stuff is so cute.  We then went to Ross Dress for Less and of course more baby stuff, the line was out the back door and Gramma was getting cranky.  I am not a very good shopper, now when my kids were little I loved the malls.  Now it's order off the Internet, I like the convenience.  I'm worn out and need a little nap.  But we had fun, so it was worth it.  She'll be here Sunday for the friends shower and do more baby laundry.
